Taken this afternoon, from our back door; an illustration of the roofing project. That's our garage on the left foreground. The whole roof of the church, on this side, has now had the three layers of shingles removed. They are just raising a sheet of plywood to nail onto the 2x6 beams, and then cover with the black roofing fabric (like on the right side of the visible part of the roof, behind the man in red). When they are done with all the sheeting, they'll put on new shingles.
I was told that between those beams it is air down to the nave, but I imagine there's a ceiling in there, too, and hopefully some insulation between ceiling and roof.
