What marks the end of the Christmas Season?

PeaceableTate remarked, sighing, tonight, that tomorrow is Epiphany and the Christmas tree will still be in place.  Personally, I like leaving the tree up until February -- why not extend the festive season as long as possible?

The tree at PeaceableTate's complete many mementos of past Christmases, in particular
the paper-doll chain cut by HomoDommi decades ago.

Our tree, looking falsely like a cheap 1950's aluminum fake. For once we got enough lights on it!

One way to mark when the Christmas season has ended is the occasion when one no longer finds dried-out pine needles when sweeping. By this index, the spirit of Christmas can extend into March or even June!

Your tree looks very mid-century here!

Why not leave it up until the next year, thus saving all the trouble of taking it down and having to put it up again.
