Demolition in Action

Update: if you can't see the video, click on "Read more..." below.
Update 2: not sure if you can see the video, I've rearranged the order of paragraphs on this post. Would someone comment to let me know if this is viewable? Thanks.

I took this little video on Saturday evening, but couldn't get it to upload to blogger until today (technical difficulties). It is just a sample of what work was like this weekend, and the experience of walking up to the echoing new space from the basement, which I had to do 1000 times that day turning off and on circuit breakers while HomoDommi messed with the electricity.

Although I say, in the video, that The Texan and HD are removing struts, at the moment I took the video, she was instead scraping the peeling paint off the ceiling with a snow shovel.

In case you can't hear the audio well, the last words are spoken by HD: "Oh, that's not good." Not a happy thing to hear when he's standing on a ladder cutting wood over his head with a reciprocating saw, three inches from a live electrical wire. (We had to have the power on to use the saw. Kind of a There's a Hole in the Bucket, Dear Liza situation.) But all was well -- just a minor inconvenience more nails than he had anticipated for removal.
