Boring little post about heat ducts

Trying to catch up, so I'll be brief. You'll thank me.

(The new register is the white one in the wall. I had sketched this possibility out in late February.  We will have to tile in the hole remaining where the old register was, on the left in the floor.)

A couple of weeks ago, when the kids were still here, we had a guy come in and install a new heating duct/vent to the bathroom.  (In a side note, what does one call these guys?  They aren't "plumbers" and they aren't "electricians". I guess they are what his company calls them, "Heating Specialists".)
(This is pretty much the view from the kitchen now, with the ductwork up in the ceiling/floor area.)

(For comparison's sake, this is a what was there before, hidden under the ceiling. Taken from a different angle, seeing behind the heating specialist in the upper photo.)

This shiny little duct work will allow us to continue to heat the bathroom without having extra large soffits in the kitchen below. The old duct had been in the dropped ceiling space.

(That's the only remaining bit of plaster with hard enamel on it, scored to look like brickwork; on the right is the guts of the pocket door.)

He also jerry-rigged the register for the kitchen heat, so that it will come out underneath a cabinet, through a grilled toekick.
