Equal parts Canadian Whiskey and Boylan's Black Cherry Soda. Squeeze half a lemon into the glass. Stir with ice and garnish with a lemon peel.
Sweet Nell's are very very tasty -- it has a nice fizz that for some reason you don't get with dark rum. Andrew had three and I had two (I had drunk most of this one before thinking to put this project on the blog. We really needed these after dealing with the steps today.
Will also invented the Will's R&R: random parts Black Cherry Soda, Jones Root Beer, Jones Cream Soda, Orange Juice, Apple Juice and water, with several green grapes squeezed in by hand. It tastes pretty good -- a nice drink for Fall.

Substitution warning: At a party a week later, I substituted lime for the lemon, and it just wasn't as tasty. Something about the whiskey-lemon-cherry flavor that doesn't work with lime.
