Actually, I saw Lymond yesterday, playing Australian rules football for Melbourne or Essendon, but I don't know his name!!! He could be this man's...cousin.
I don't think Lymond. For one thing, the guy is huge. Looks like a football or rugby player. Imposing, like Gabriel. (Which difference in size doesn't mesh with the whole mistaken-identity-in-the-tent issue, but it's how I perceive the characters.) And the roles I've seen him play are smart but grounded, stolid. I don't get the impression he could play quicksilver convincingly.
I'm not sure he needs to act, if he looks right. He could do all the action scenes, looking totallly beautiful, and for the rest, he just needs to look gloomy and tormented. How hard can that be?
