Time Waster

I was going to blog something tonight, but instead I decided to find out what The Guild was about. (It is an example of a new phenomenon: a tv series entirely and only "broadcast" online.) It has been recommended a few times to me by friends who like Dorothy Dunnett and Buffy the Vampire Slayer (among other shared favorites).

The Guild is funny, and pretty good, and I've spent the last hour and more watching the ten 4-6 minute episodes of Season One, and a few in Season Two. I don't recommend it to anyone who doesn't like Buffy -- not because it's gory or occult, but because the humor will not translate. It's about a group of people who play World of Warcraft (or some similar online Dungeons and Dragons fantasy-style game).

For the rest of you, whom I do recommend The Guild to, Felicia Day, who plays "Codex"/Syd, was in Dr. Horrible's Sing-along Weblog last year. She wrote, stars in, and produces this show (talented woman).

Or, you can watch a music video they just released, which is actually pretty good.
