I picked the following up from
tywkiwdbi. It is a montage of movies released since 2000. Some I recognize, many I don't, some I recognize but haven't seen before, and now am more intrigued (may have to gird my loins in preparation to see
The Dark Knight, which I haven't had the stomach for, but which has a fascinating tidbit here).
This one by Paul Proulx is comprised of clips from films of the 2000s. For a list of the component movies, see the comment thread at Vimeo. Via The Daily Dish.

Clearly made by someone with very different taste in movies than me.
Very few women and most of them about to physically fight with someone, or maybe kiss them.
I glanced at the list of movies, compiled over several posters. I was impressed by how knowledgeable some of them were about movies (lots more than me, and I thought I was pretty knowledgeable).
To address The Bride's comment, I wonder if these are representative. I mean, that the movies made in the 2000s are mostly about men fighting, or about to kiss a woman (not so much about women as active participants).
The montage was compiled by a guy, though, so maybe it's just seen through his lens.
Ooh, I just got an idea. Hmm, will cogitate.
I counted a total of 105 movies, of which I definitely identified, by name, around 32, and there were another 15 or so which I recognized, but could not place the actual name to it. And of all 105 movies, I've only seen around maybe 15 or 20, so obviously I not really the movie seeing type.
There was that one of "women" (placed in quotes, because there could have also been men present) dancing (and singing) in front of the large machine. Any ideas one which movie that was?
Whatever
DaBris
I don't know that movie either, DaBris, but if the list in the comments is correct, it is from Dancer in the Dark.
Upon viewing this montage again, I am not sure what I like about it (but I do like it). The music, which is good, doesn't match many of the movies it illustrates; the movies don't segue in any lasting manner (like, images of water moving to images of blood moving to images of birth... etc.). And yes, there is a bent towards action films and what I'll call "masculine" films.
I wonder how hard it is to make a montage like this. I have the time, some days.
I mostly didn't recognize the films; I didn't even recognize the actors. I loved the music.
At some meta-level, these clips from the films of the 2000s suggest that the apocalypse is happening now: battle scenes, aliens, violent death, sadness, disruption, conflict, gangs, disease.
Bride's point is well observed. I wonder if a woman's selection would be different. More Jane Austen, sunny days, children, costumes and dancing, for example.
