HomoDommi, busy as ever, has been adding signs in places around the garden. These are the newest, hung over our vine-covered trellis corner. (After the particularly hard storms last winter, we lost the manzanilla and passion flowers that had been the greenery. The new plants haven't grown in yet.) The signs say,
A world of dew
is but a world of dew.
And yet, and yet...
(Basho)
and
* Umbrella * Light * Landscape * Sky *
there is no language in the holy
the sacred lies in the ordinary.

The Laundry sign (and the painted starburst of flowers) has been up for at least a year now. Unfortunately, the reverse does not hold: Just doing the laundry does not guarantee prior enlightenment.

Re: world of dew Haiku. Not Basho - it's by Issa. Written on the anniversary of the death of his 2-year old daughter (drowned).
